MediaPortal Version:1.1
I just started using MediaPortal again and I really like it a lot. I wanted a different alternative to Media Center on Windows 7 on a new netbook I just got. I'm also using it on my main computer with XP sp3. It won't play youtube videos, .mkv's that are encoded by myself with Divx pro 7, I will simply get a message that I can't play AVC, H263, 20 and for audio AAC ver 4 LL, mpeg 2 Layer 3. I have ffdshow 3516 as well as QT and Real Alternative installed on both computers and all these videos will play using Media Player Classic on either (using ffdshow). However, ffdshow does not seem to be starting when using MediaPortal with these files even though I have it checked in video postprocessing. The FFdshow video decoder will start with a .mov though. I have even tried uninstalling the Divx pro mp4 decoder but it didn't help. If anyone can help thanks! If more info needed let me know. Sorry I should have posted this in codecs, I appologize.
I should mention after reading some info from another thread, I tried changing MPC to using vmr9 instead of overlay, thought maybe that was a clue to the reason but videos still play in MPC using either output.
