My setup is kind of annoying me as when playing back recordings (ts) I can not scan through the frames whilst using ffwd / rew.

I can do this with AVI and MKV files but when I playback a recording the picture pauses and only resume when I play again. So it is pure guesswork as to when to start playing again.

Before I go down the route of looking at what splitters are being used etc is this a known limitation of MP and there is nothing I can do about it?

(searching for skip ffwd recording only brings up advert/comskip threads and scan/recordings only brings up tuning threads...)

    Hi,

This is a known problem, and the developers are aware of it.

I think it is correct to say that there are technical reasons why this does not work with the network protocols used by the TV engine, and that the developers do not yet have a solution.

In the meantime, you can use the skip steps to move through a recording/timeshift. I didn't like it at first, but you get used to it!

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    thanks but confused...
Once the ts file has been recoded to your hard drive why does this have anything to do with network protocols or the TV Engine? Surely it is no different to playing back any other media file from your hard drive?

I will check out skip steps anyway thanks.
