File Naming and automatic database creation (1 Viewer)

I have been naming my files exactly as the are listed on IMDB. In fact, I copy and paste the name directly even with the date so that the all my movies are named exactly like IMDB, but I find that IMDB very often makes mistakes, or rather the MP IMDB plug-in selects the wrong information from the IMDB database.

Is there an optimal naming strategy to assure that the database lookup succeeds?

Ultimately, I would like to get all my filenames perfect then have MP do an IDBM scan of all my movie directories over night. At this time, I have about 400 movies.

Thanks for any help. Im sure others have asked this question, but I have been unsuccessful finding an answer.

Hello, i know that is a really old question

i use the numbers from IMDB as filenames, and the name of the movie as folder name
like this:

D:\movies\name of the movie\tt012345.avi

that really works fine

I copy and paste the exact name and date (in brackets) from IMDB. So far has worked 100% of the time with ~ 300DVD rips
