Hi All just a few noob questions....
1.What is the best way to save your movies as? files structure and filenames?
i have mine like this..just a rough example
    Movies
    A
    Aliens
    Aliens1
    Aliens 1 filename.avi
    Aliens2
    Aliens 2 filename.avi
Can mediaportal cater for this? Must i leave the year of the movie in the filename? stuff like that...

2.Same goes for the series?? Do they need to be in a folder per series? does all the episodes have to be in a season folder?
    3. Can i mark all added movies and series as watched? i have millions of stuff i already watched and would like only to mark the newest stuff as unwatched. I'll mark everything as unwatched and only from then on leave stuff to be managed by MP
    4. When i move stuff around will MP automatically remmeber all the info it downloaded? (where is this downloaded to?
5.can i import a DB? I would like to sit at work and sort out all my stuff and when i arrive at home just import and voila...not sure it's going t be that easy.

Busy going through forums....a bit overwelming....great app though!!!!

oh, when i press the back button on my MC remote nothing happens, tried playing with the remote setting on MP but no luck....also is there a way to minimize MP?

the order structure is not very important . you can use 2 plugins to manage movies and series .. with this plugins you have a lot of options to handle movies/series

    movies:
moving-pictures - Project Hosting on Google Code

    series:
mptvseries - Project Hosting on Google Code

the plugins will create automatically a new database and add a "new" structure to Mediaportal. The Plugins will detect automatically all infos about movies, series and will fill the database with infos from the internet. The Plugins has Scanfolders and everything which is in this folders will be deteced --> so you can move everything inside this folders .. but if you move a file outside this folder you must add a new scanfolder

About your remote: try to find IR Server Suite in the forum

Must i leave the year of the movie in the filename

Ideally yes, both the internal Video scanner and MovingPictures use this to find correct movie from imdb or themoviedb.

.Same goes for the series?? Do they need to be in a folder per series? does all the episodes have to be in a season folder?

Again ideally yes, more accurate results from tvdb when using the TVSeries plugin.

I have to rename the files then?

I'm a sad person, I go find my movie on imdb and then cut'n'paste it to the file, now if you have a lot of movies then!!!
