FilmInfo+ works by using the series/collection info from TheMovieDb website and then fix the ones that go wrong. The IMDb+ scraper does the opposite, it gets the info from IMDb.com website (or IMDb.de for German users) and then renames specific movies "to group them" based on a default rename database file that gets auto-updated by the IMDb+ plugin. If there is enough people wanting it, I could add ofdb support into IMDb+. Right now it relies solely on IMDb.de for the German info, which I know can be sparse on some titles (but could be corrected quickly if more German users would contribute to the IMDb.de website). The IMDb+ default rename database file currently contains 1452 entries for movie series and more are added each day via user requests on the IMDb+ forum thread or by myself when I notice a missing one. The only problem is that the current default rename database is English titles only. I've done work on adding a multi-language system, but was battling a long lasting cold/flu that messed up my schedule. Hopefully soon I can resume my efforts and get something working. Of course you can fix this yourself already via the custom rename database system that IMDb+ supports and Merlyn was helping me to get started with an initial German translated version. So once I'm caught up with other things that got pushed aside due to being sick; I will get back to make the multi-language rename system functional out-of-the-box. But as mentioned you can already make it work with a few additional steps right now. The IMDb+ plugin itself which allows you to control the IMDb+ scraper-script options from within MediaPortal GUI has been translated into German already. Or you can keep using FilmInfo+, or switch to OFDB scraper, or do whatever you want :)
