I have a Hauppauge PVR-350 and I have tuned my channels fine.
EXCEPT ONE. The worse is that is is one of the two biggest networks in my country.
This channel (ANT1, channel C38 in my area), works fine in all my TVs and my Hauppauge WinTV on another computer - all on the same antenna). This would (probably, not sure since I cannot try) be a minor thing if I could fine-tune the channel.
The frequency reported for channel 38, is 607.312. I try to change the frequency manualy (I even tried major changes like putting 600), and it does nothing. I even tried to tick "tv channel is encrypted" to force the system to use the frequency not the channel (as the notes say), still it doesn't (plus it UNTICKS the "tv channel is encrypted" itself!).
Hauppauge native tuner has a function called "AFT" (which must mean "auto fine tune") that is not utilised by MP tuner. Of course on my other WinTV (which is not an expensive PVR350) this "AFT" stays at zero, like ANT1 is C38 spot-on anyway. There could be a difference between the hardware tuners of course.
Anyway the issue is that I cannot fine tune (which I hope would solve the problem - I am not sure though).
Also (since I mention the issue), I have "tricked" the system to in fact use PAL, by selecting Germany as the country, since for some reason Windows (and Hauppauge) both think that Greece uses PAL AND SECAM and choose SECAM for all channels! (where the reality is that there is no SECAM channel for quite many years)
