Since this is benefiting all 4TR multiseat (MP based) users and is not even supported by the team itself (SMB hasn't ever been a supported mode for multiseat) maybe you could have a peek on the TsWriter/TsReader code?

I understand if you aren't, but please understand if I am not that keen for improving the non-supported use case :)
:)

I would think the benefit might be for everyone ;) But I'll look at the tsreader code for sure, since I'd like to see this actually running -- right now playback stops the moment the end of the file is reached and the "loop" happens, and that's not so cool... Once the concept is proven, then tswriter can be looked at.

About the supported / non-supported mode, if RTSP is not working like it should (mediatype shifts=hang) it would be nice to have this fixed before putting down other options ;)

No I can't, my point was just that right now I HAVE no other option than using SMB/UNC, so it bothers me that this mode is always spoken of as unsupported. I also have way faster channelchange with SMB, and that's another key-feature for me.

    ;)

Please try to limit the general discussion on the patch forum. No politics or nice to have... Just technical discussion and test results.

    Hi!
Can sombody help me how to install this file.
I fist tested the streamingdiskIOfix-V3-binaries file. i unzipped the file and copied the files in the two dir to "mediaportal" (client) and "mediaportal tv server" (serverPC).

But then i couldn´t start the tvserver and open tvserver configuration.

Do i have to install the discontinutifixv3 patch file also?

Just out of interest, how fast is 'fast' for the channel change time you guys see?

With this patch both single seat and RTSP seem to take just fractionally over a second for me. This seems about in line with all the satellite STBs i've used in the past.

For me it also takes just over a second with RTSP but using UNC it takes less than half a second.

This is with a Digital-Devices octopus card and a dual dvb-c tuner (unscrambled channels)

With a dual dvb-s2 tuner also attached to the octopus card it takes around a second, but thats with scrambled channels.

    regards
