Needed, well, I don't think so, but, going on with your case. Have you tryed to extract the running graph to check if sound is really getting into the muxer, or at least being selected on the xbar?.

I can play the recordings with other programs and get the audio and video perfectly. So I know it is all being muxxed in.

I just captured the graphs, and it all looks right. What is the difference between mediaportal and others(VLC, media player classic, no video in Windows media player (No codec?))?

So I don't know whats wrong. Media Portal doesn't like MPEG layer 1? I'll have to analyse the recodings more and see the differences from the ones it does play (DVB-T)

Well, a mpeg2 stream muxes with Layer II audio so..... may that's the issue. The graph looks ok, and if you can play the files on VLC & mpc WMP doesn't work very well if you have MPV codec installed, for an unknown reason to me, the Merit of the filter doesn't work.

VLC & mplayer can play very very strange or even corrupted files, the worst thing you have is that Elecard Layer II encoder defaults to Layer I audio if i remember it correctly. That can be the reason MP refuses to play the file.

The solution .. hmm let me work out something for you to be able to change parameters at will for that elecard thing ...

will post it when tested locally.

MPEG2 container is supposed to support MPEG Layer 1,2 and 3, AC3 and AAC. But that does sound like the issue. I have been using the elecard encoder and the ATI one, ATI defaults to layer 1, but can be changed. Elecard doesn't let you choose, leading me to assume it is Layer II as displayed.

It is 2 Channel, MP2 at 256kbit/s with a 504ms shift

I can Catpure-Encode-Decode-Render, perfectly fine, it must be the mux-demux part confusing it. And it definately seems to be MP2, Elecard at 256 kbit/s and ATI at 224kbit/s

SVHS input on DVICO DVB-T Plus

I also have a DVICO DVB-T Plus card and want to record the SVHS input using MP.

I haven't been able to get the SVHS input displayed yet, I don't really know where to start. Therefore I am interested to see the steps that are involved to get this to work.

Will this solution get rolled into an SVN release or does it require some tweaking of an existing configuration?
