Hi,

I have used MediaPortal since 0.2.3.0 up to my current installation of RC3. Lately I have been very pleased with the performance of my HTPC. Now I only have one problem that has haunted me since the beginning:

I use Swedish Boxer as my TV provider, where my FloppyDTV is used for all channels (incl scrambled) and my HVR-1300 for the FTA channels.

Sometimes after wakeup from standby, MediaPortal can not show any of my scrambled channels. Most often when this happens i get the "an unknown error has occurred", but sometimes "can not start timeshift" or "no free tv-card available" (translated on the top of my head from Swedish). I can not view any of the channels that are assigned to my FloppyDTV card, not scrambles nor FTA channels. Thus I have located the problem to the FloppyDTV card which does not work at all in MediaPortal when this happens. If I start up FireDTV Viewer all channels work just fine, so it has to be some problem within MediaPortal/TV-server. The CAM limit is set to "0", but I have tried other values with the same problem.

When this problem has occurred, I always get the "unknown error" when I try to preview a channel assigned to the FloppyDTV in TV-server config. A restart of the TV-service usually solves the problem. But also if I just change the priority of the TV-cards back and forth, then try the preview again.

This is a very annoying problem that usually occurs once or twice a week, and makes me unable to completely trust my HTPC in waking up and recording my scheduled shows.

I have attached logs where the latest occurrences shown are when I try to view a scrambled channel (Kanal 5) and get the "unknown error" message.

I really hope that someone can help me with this problem.

/Best regards
Martin

    hi,

only solution i found is to use mpstandbyhandler. there u can start and stop the tvservice. this works flawless on my system.

No I have not solved this problem yet. When looking through the forums there seems to several users that have similar problems after standby. For me the solution has been to restart my HTPC once or twice a week, then I usually avoid the problem.

I will soon update to MP 1.0, but i doubt there will be any difference in the behaviour. Maybe I should try the MPstandbyhandler instead. I have also been looking at "for the record", which appears to have its own standby handler system (or? maybe it does not completely replace the inbuilt powersheduler).

Do you also have problems with just Floppy/Fire DTV tv-cards? I do not see this problem with my Hauppague card.

I used MP 1.0.0.0, with a PVR150 analog tuner and a FireDTV C tuner. Single seat.
Yesterday I removed my PVR150, so only FireDTV was left.
With the PVR150 I never had the problem, but now I get the 'Lost connection to TV server' after every S3 resume.

If I restart MP, it works again. I don't have to restart TV server.

Also, when the connection is lost, i can't make the PC enter S3 from the remote.
