Hi to all..

This weekend i had time to instal windows 7 and play with the new version of windows media center..and i would like to share with all of you my opinions and my wishes for the new mp2 that our devs working so hard the last year.
I will speak only for the tv part and for the setup part as all the other parts are not so impresive like our great mp.
I like the way that media center find my cards 1 hybrid analog and T and my satellite s2 without the user must search for a lot of options, the setup of the channels or the lnbs or the organise of the channels, group etc was very nice all inside on the main program, another thing that i like was that not necessary from user to bother with codecs and very dificulut options just ready out of the box :) the gui was really very nice also the speed of the zapping was amazing nice epg viewer and i like the way that the gui part are really like you use a tv box, nice and small transparent cards.
I would like from our devs really to have a closer look on the windows media center and to borrow some nice ideas for the future of the mp2.

I am a power user that its mean i dont have problem to digging around with a lot of options for setup or play around with programs and this is not meaning that i dont like the way that mp1 is right now but we have to think for the users that are not so familiar with pc just install and through nice gui setup the most important parts like tv.mousic, photos, etc

Sorry for my big post but i would like to hear the opinions from our devs or from all the users of mp1

Thanks
Nikos

Personally I like to bother with codecs and MediaPortal is ready if you don't want to bother with them. It is open source after all and one of the common characteristics of all open source software is the capability to be manipulated according to the users' needs. Now for the rest of the features like speed etc there is always room for improvement.
