Hello,

My HTPC is connected via HDMI/DVI adapter to a DENON Receiver. The DENON is then connected via HDMI to a Plasma TV.

My HTPC has a GeForce 6600 graphic card and is setup up to output 1080i. Everything works fine until I reboot my PC. The graphic cards seems not to recognize that there is a display connected to the DVI port an activats the VGA port. So every time I want to reboot my PC I have to directly connect my HTPC to the Plasma Display.

I also want to be able to automatically reboot my PC (e.g. over night) with my Plasma TV turned off.

Does anyone know how to force to PC to use only DVI and ignore if there is no display connected?

Regards
Christoph

There is an option in the nVidia display applet that will force TV detection I don't know if this will work with HDMI/DVI but if you haven't tried it I would give it a go.

I tried this but it only seems to works for the S-Video port.

Thank you for your tips.

I found out that my HDMI/DVI adapter cable was the problem. I repaced it and now the DENON is recognized during boot and I the DVI output is activated as expected.

Christoph
