Hi All,

I've managed to get everything in the chain working with regard to these MCE blasters and MediaPortal. I.E MediaPortal -> MPExTuneCmd -> HipSend -> Actually transmit something on the MCE blasters.

I've used my foxtel digital remote to teach HIP the foxtel channel commands but when I test them I can't for the life of me get the foxtel box to respond.

The blasters light up and I know they are definately transmitting - I have infrared headphones and when I put the blasters up against them I can hear the click click of a signal, also if I put the blasters up near the MCE receiver the receive light comes on.

I isolated the receive spot on the foxtel digital box and when I put the blasters right up against it the receive light on the box doesn't come on and the channel doesn't change. I tested it continuously blasting for about 10 minutes and I got the box to receive a signal mabe 1 or 2 times.

I had a look around and the box is some kind of UEC box, couldn't find a model number on it though.

Has anybody managed to get Foxtel digital box to respond to the MCE blasters? I'm starting to think that perhaps the speed at which the signals are being transmitted is not correct or something? I can't see any options in HIP to adjust the transmission speed or anything.

Anybody know where I can get working IR/CCF codes for this particular box?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd love to get MP working with Foxtel, it'd just be the best :)

Thanks!

Not a very helpfull post, but about two weeks ago I got a cable stb from my provider. That thing just doesn't want to work with the blasters. I get ea response once every 50 times. I've also used the blaster on my tv and that works brilliant.

So maybe try it first on something else to see how the blaster works.

Hi, well i've tried it out on a few other IR devices - TV, Bose radio etc and I can't get any of those things to respond, I tried it in a room with no other IR transmitters and away from the TV just in case there was some interference going on but still I can't get anything to respond. I'm sure the transmitters are sending something but it looks like it's probably not the correct code?

I will try to find the .dat file and try it with the myblaster plugin. Has anyone seen anything like this before, perhaps it's not learning my remotes correctly, mabe playing back incorrectly?

Hmm, anyone know where i can download the myblaster plugin? I'm still using MP 0.1.3 so it's not part of the plugins list by default and I can't find a link to download anywhere?

Thanks wortelsoft, I got myblaster and managed to teach it the number 1, but that was pure luck, can't seem to get it to learn any other channels?

Where is this myblaster.dat link I searched the forum and the closest I could find was
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=13750&highlight=myblaster+dat

I've emailed c9513557 asking for his .dat file but haven't got a reply from him yet..

Any help would be appreciated, I'm so close I can taste it!

Thanks,

I've got a copy of the 'gumbo' myblaster.dat file that you guys can have - Pm me with your email addresses.

I found that the change with the gumbo version of the .dat file was nothing short of miraculous - what very rarely worked before now worked every time. The Foxtel STb can be a bit picky with regard to the balster positioning though - I found the best way to do it was to take the foxtel box cover off, run the blaster wire & flasher into the front of the foxtel stb & tape it directly over the top of the STB IR receiver - works a treat, and also means there are fewer cables snaking all over the place = much higher WAF!
