Don't know what is causing this, but if I zap from an analog channel to a digital one, I have a lot of framedrops.
The digital channel is played correctly if I didn't have switched to an analog channel since the start of mediaportal, with a cpu usage of 20-30%.

Logs are attached, 100% reproducable (at least on my system).
actions: first watch digital channel nr 1, then switch to another digital channel, then an analog one and then back to a digital one.

This happens only if Mediaportal is running in full-screen. Windowed I didn't have any framedrops.
Didn't try various combinations of codecs/videodrivers, because it runs fine if I don't have tuned to an analog channel.

Update: It seems that pressing stop and reselecting the channel helps, so I guess something isn't released after a channel change.
And it happens too on analog channels, although it doesn't present itself as framedrops, but as audio out of sync.
I watch TV (analog+digital) with the Cyberlink Videodecoder (PVDV9)

    I have same issue.
I will test the full screen vs windowed mode to see how it behaves.
CPU usage was low on my system.

I also have CyberLink PowerDVD installed.
Does MP use that Video Decodercoder if I just did a default MP install or do you have to select the Video Decoder manually?
I would like to try having MP use its stock video decoder, any idea where I configure that?

In mediaportal configuration, section "codecs and renderer", tvcodecs tab.

Don't know if cyberlink is the default one, I've chosen it because that was recommended at the saf 4.00-page.
I did some experimenting and for now, cyberlink is the only one that does a reasonable job at deinterlacing without too much cpu usage

It could be possible that analog channels use a different FPS than the dvb ones.
But that is something only you can check.

If this is the case then this explains the droped frames. MyTV is not able to change the refreshrate according to the FPS of the TvChannel.

Both are at 50fps. btw: isn't that info somewhere in the log-files?

    My issue is resolved.
My TimeShift drive was running low on space so I simply changed Timeshift to run on another drive.
What would be really cool is if MP handled a drive space error gracefully and give the user a warning when it starts up.

Yeah, I am demanding asking the devs for such since ages. But this seems to have to wait for MP2. :(

Drive space isn't the issue with me.
Just tried a downgrade for Ati's CCC to 9.5 (I think that was the version I had before with mediaportal 1.0.2).
Didn't help much, although now I see the problem more evident.

    Tvcodec: ffdshow from saf 5.00:
    Steps done:

select analog channel from tv (plays with roughly 35-45 fps. I know it's too low, but bear with me).
zap to next analog channel (also plays with roughly 35-45 fps)
now zap back to first channel then it plays with 5-10fps.
This is really a dramatic drop!
    New logs attached.
