In Australia our Free To Air DTV broadcasters have recently enhanced things by what they call Freeview. Freeview is a protocol which includes start and stop signals. My friend's standalone Panasonic DVR complies with Freeview, allowing convenient recordings of shows by simply selection from the EPG, with no need to allow pre and post-recording time blocks (i.e. buffering) as the machine detects the signals.
I have searched MP forums and people are working on using Freeview EPGs but I have not found reference to the recording-convenience aspect so I wonder if I'm going astray.
Can someone advise if this recording feature is available in MP, or consider this enhancement.
