In the end I uninstalled again and removed the database files. The next install seemed to go well so I started re-importing my library.All went fine until I tried playing a ripped DVD (vob format). No sound. I had sound for playing audio files and also the vob files would play in VLC, so this must be an issue specific to the way the video player is handling audio. It was then that I noticed that the LAV filters had not re-installed. Odd, as I thought this was part or the MP2 install. I went to the LAV website and installed the latest version but still no luck.I do recall that previously on this machine I had many different audio and video codecs to choose from. Now I only seem to have the Microsoft one. For information my bedroom HTPC only has stereo sound via the 3.5mm speaker jack.Anyone got any ideas what has gone wrong here?</blockquote>
