"fullscreen" in combination with "not always on top" not working anymore (1 Viewer)

  • General => [X] Start MediaPortal in fullscreen mode
  • General => [_] MediaPortal always on top
  • DirectShow Filter Control => Video Mixing Renderer 9 Settings => [X] Use VMR 9 exclusive mode
• Started MP
• Started a video or tv
• Started other application (i.e. browser) on top and used it

Behaviour up to rev16014: works

Since rev16086: works as long as no video/tv is played or was played before. In case a video was played other apps won't open on top off MP, but "behind" it: they gain windows focus (i.e. keyboard controls them), but are not visible.

got this scenario with rev16086 and with rev16135 (with rev16135 until about 10min before this post; now there is another (new and probably not related ) problem which prevents me from doing the logs; perhabs some of the others might do it?)

This sounds like "exclusive direct x mode" isn't disabled anymore.
I've seen this for quite a long time (even before 16014) in some occasions now...

The same problem has been noted on other threads. The behaviour happens when My TV has been used before launching an external program. It does not happen when My Videos has been used.

Here are a couple of sets of logs. I don't think there's much to look at in them, but I'm no expert.

logs - Multishortcut

- start MediaPortal - My TV - view channel - stop channel - attempt to launch Opera with Multishortcut

logs - My Programs

- start MediaPortal - My TV - view channel - stop channel - attempt to launch CDisplay with My Programs

Thanks for having a look at this one, I have just spent 15+ hours building a My Programs database for a classic gaming nut, he'd really like to see it work!

Yes, rtv is right. It appears that dx exclusive mode is not disabled.

As a workaround disable exclusive mode in configuration.

Thanks for this (explicit) workaround! I didn't get the post of rtv right, now I think he suggested quite the same already.

If anyone else wonders where to find it in this in the configuration:
