After my last attempt at finding good quality images to use for my games came up empty, I decided to do them myself.

And I just wanted to let everyone here know that I've posted over 9,000 game images in two different resolutions at Emulated Art

There are images for
gba
nes
snes
n64
mame
colecovision
2600
5200
7800
genesis
and intellivision

These images have a standard look to them all and I hope that everyone enjoys them.

I've attached some samples to give you an idea of what is on there.

I hope that it is okay that I posted this here, I know how hard it is to get decent images for emulated games....

As far as i can tell from those links (now given I just glanced over them), my programs doesn't download the images or the data, but rather relied on myGames to get the information and the images. I am very familiar with myGames (I wrote it and it hasn't been available for quite some time now) and it essentially was scraping websites to get that data.

The images that were downloaded were generally low res, had watermarks on them, were not consistent (sp?) in their size, shape, or style. All of these images have the same style to them. Each system may vary slightly, but not the individual games.

Also, there are no watermarks and the resolutions are mame:310 x 469 & 1240 x 1876 others: 347 x 509 & 1388 x 2036.

Not too mention you don't have to wait for each individual image to download, you can download whole sets of them at one time. There are over 9000 images for each resolution, so it should save users quite a bit of time. The only difference here is that the images do not use the goodcodes in the filenames. This may be an issue for my Emulators, but I'm sure that if it is deemed necessary that this issue would be addressed relatively quickly.

myGames migrated over to a full set of plugins for meedio. There were initial plans to do the same for mediaportal, but it never came, I didn't know any c# at the time. The standalone myGames relied heavily upon parsing websites for the data that it was getting, this was something that I really tried to move away from. The myGames plugins was rather difficult for me to accomplish, support for newer versions of mame was ultimately broken due to changes in the mame source.

The demand for the plugin never met or exceeded the amount of effort that developing it took. I do appreciate the fact that those that used it seemed to like it. There are other reasons why myGames is no more, but anyways, you have my Emulators now, so hopefully it will fill the gap.......
