I having trouble getting the game thumbs appear. I have them in thumbs\myemulator\games . The name of the thumb is the same as in the rom database in the config.

The thumb for the emulator works like a charm. Can't under stand why the game thumbs don't work. Tried with different formats on the tumbs. I use the latest My emulator and Mediaportal 0.2.3.0.

The ROM images must be placed in a subfolder of thumbs\myEmulators\games
named as the emulator it belongs to.

So if you have a emulator you named "Nintendo" in the myEmulators config you need to create a folder named Nintendo in the thumbs\myEmulators\games folder and put all your nintedo thumbs there...

I am having a similar problem. So just to clarify, if I want to add thumbnails for a game belonging to emulator ABC, I add the thumbnail to:

(mediaportal install directory)\thumbs\myEmulators\games\ABC\

and for the emulator itself:

(mediaportal install directory)\thumbs\myEmulators\emulators\ABC\

? Sorry, I know this has probably been asked a million times before

The game thumbnail is correct, but for the newer versions of MP the thumbs folder is not in the install directory but in the C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Application data\Team mediaportal...

The thumbnail to the emulator should not be in a subfolder, but placed in the myEmulators\emulators folder directly.

There's a bug in the second-to-newest SVN version, so be sure to use either the latest SVN or a previously released version to get it to work.

Thanks! Thats really helped - the problem is there is so much information on these forums (a lot of it now out of date) that is becomes difficult to work out what is current. Keep up the great work. :D

Try looking at the Readme first - it should always be updated.

I did, although it didn't make clear that I should be creating the directories in :

C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Application data\Team mediaportal

rather than the previous install directory. I think I have the most recent release, will check when I get home.

Documentation and information is one of mediaportal's main weaknesses. Try and hang in there... ;)
yep, thats why i made the FAQ. trying to help out in that area. latest version can always be found here:
https://myemulators.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/myemulators
let me know if something should be added or changed.

That path has been in the FAQ for a while now and a few days ago I updated it to list that path first, and then say that for previous versions of mediaportal, people can try the other path.
Let me know if something is incorrect.
