Played around with the gapless playback function of MP (BASS engine) to find out that it is "nearly gapless". I'm not sure if it is a BASS engine issue or a MP issue however if it is possible to improve it this would be nice. Checked against foobar2000 and there gapless is really gapless (Tested two tracks of PinkFloyd WYWH ripped as FLAC).

MP actually does a very quick crossover. If you can and want to play back over ASIO, you might want to try my plugin https://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Download/MediaPortalInstaller(MPI)/AudioorRadio/ASIOMusicPlayerPlugin/

It does true gapless playback.

Thank's for bringing this to my attention.
Would be nice if playback over standard waveout would be possible as my audiocard already supports true 44.1 khz playback without resampling and going the ASIO route would introduce additional stability issues I think. However I will give it a try.

As all this is also possible with BASS it would be a good thing to have it in MP directly. Did to get into conversation with hwahrmann? Maybe you could coordinate your efforts to get all the good things of your plugin directly into MP.

Depends on your device. I have noticed that ASIO4ALL is not 100% stable, but my m-audio card with native ASIO drivers has been rock-solid sofar.

I've already been sharing my code with hwahrmann, so who knows :)

That's exactly what I had in mind. No native ASIO drivers for my device which means ASIO4ALL.

I'm currently adding WaveOut support, so it can be used by anyone just for the gapless feature. It should be ready at the end of this week.
