I am not the author but I thought it would be good to announce in the forum that a new skin is available.

Name: Gate

Author: James Ihimaera (Hemi)

Description: A 800 x 600 Mediaportal themed screen based on the Stargate(tm) series. This replaces the Pyramid & Parchment screen and is the current version.

Features:
* Animated logo within the stargate icon - Suppose to emulate the watery surface of the wormhole.
* Rotating logo with the sg1 symbol on one side and the mediaportal logo on the other.
* When toggling through the options (My TV, My Videos etc) the gate symbols on the right change.

Notes: He still has a couple of things to finish, such as moving some of the info windows as well as coming up with a opening animation (Iris of the gate opening to reveal the wormhole). As always any suggestions are welcome.

License: All animations were created by the author. Please don't use them for any other purpose unless you acknoiwledge the creator.

No problems mzemina. Thanx for posting the notice.
I spend quite a bit of time trying to get my htpc looking and working the way I like, and I upload the results as I go along. I wish I could spend more time doing it but unfortunately time 's something I don't have much of.
All thanx to the MediaPortal team who provide us with such an amazing product. Hopefully I will upload the other 4 skins I have in developement, as well as tidy up my Gate skin (There are a few bits that I need to change/delete/move).
Unfortunately I recently reinstalled windows, and of course I forgot to backup my skin source files(grrr) so I may need to rebuild them from scratch (groan).
BTW, would the stargate look better if the gate symbol track rotated? I was worried that too many animations may slow down low spec comps, so I stuck with only 2. Hopefully I will finnish my Dr Who skin within the month.
