It's because MP itself, as well as the keyboardinputplugin.dll plugin, "capture" the same keystrokes and translate it to the same action if the assigned keys happen to be the same, which is probably the case with cursor buttons, enter etc. An option would be to change the keys so they do not match MP's standard configuration. Or just do as I do and delete keymap.xml from your "application data\mediaportal" folder. This way MP won't recognize any keystrokes an the plugin will do all the translating...
