MP Config settings have no bearing on the actions of the plugin (at least that I have found anyway).

What I do is find out what the device actually is and set MP to that just to be on the safe side. If your remote is an actual MCE remote then set it to that, or HID for any HID devices or unlisted generic devices, but in reality I dont think it matters.

Can you offer more infomation on how it is not working?
