Generic "media center remote" w/ HID receiver (1 Viewer)

I wanted to give Media Portal one more chance because the frustration is starting to outweigh the investment.

I tried this remote on 3 different media centers:

PowerCinema4 = All buttons work like a charm.
Media Center Edition 2005 = "stop" and "media center" buttons don't work, the rest do.
Media Portal = Only the arrows, volup, voldn and enter buttons work, everything else doesn't. I cannot mute, ff,rev, pause,play , chapters, stop, back or dvd menu.

I've tried setting up MP for an HID or MCE remote device and they both perform the same tasks. I've also tried adding the MCE replacement plugin. Nothing different.

The HID receiver appears as "withehome - Cyp SE" in a HID testing program.
Is there a way to map this remote to MP keystrokes?

Any ideas would be helpful. (PS: I'm using XP Home)

Might want ot give eventghost a try, or I'm sure And-81's IR Server Suite can be made to work
