Hopefuly this isn't a stupid question but I'm a little confused. Basically my HTPC doesn't have internet access and I have read posts on here talking about getting movie information from nfo files. I was hoping to be able to create an nfo file with the movie info which could just be imported into moving pictures. However after reading around on the forum and the moving pictures wiki I cant work out whether this feature is currently implemented or if only the imdb id can b used and this feature will be implemented in a later release. Hopefully someone can clear this up for me and if it can import the information directly from an nfo file what kind of format would the info need to be in... thanks...

this should be possible with a later version of the plugin. Currently only imdb links in nfo/txt files are parsed and information is then obtained from the imdb site (or other data sources, but all online)

Starting with the next release, it will be possible to create a scraper script that reads a file from the file system. That's still one step away from an actual NFO file scraper, but it's a step in the right direction...

Also if you are willing to enter information manually you can of course manually add all your movies and type everything in. This is totally impractical for more than about a dozen movies though I think. Your best bet short term is probably to temporarily connect your HTPC to the internet. Sorry. :(

hi,

all my database are in extreme movie manager (excellent)
is it possible to intergrate this database to moving pictures.

I have test exporting database to nfo file, but moving pictures go to internet also.

Sorry olivvvv, this is not currently possible. :( Currently the only way to load your movies is by importing them via one of the currently available scraper scripts.

thanks fforde for your quick response.

is it plan in the future or not ?

i use a mediacenter at 100%
90 % mediaportal (music, series, pictures, radio..)
10 % meedio (movies )

I use meedio just because :
- i can sorting movies by genre, and because we can have more than one database of movie ( movie, movie hd, children...)
- i can importing database from extrem movie manager (and it's really important for french user to use it because scrappers for france are not very cool and dont really have a good results)

Please !!!!! ?? :D

google translate :D : in any case well done to the community of developers on the forum, you are excellent

With version 0.8 we will have filtering implemented so you can navigate your movies by genre, year of release, or anything else. You'll also be able to setup custom groupings so you could have top-level Movies, Movies HD, Kid's Movies, etc categories.

In addition to this, beginning with 0.8, the scraper engine will allow scrapers to read from files on the disk, which should open the door for scrapers that allow you to migrate from one platform to another, like what you are requesting. To be clear though, for such a thing to work, a script that actually does the migration will have to be written.
