see you are a new user, sometimes hard to figure out which forum is good place for problems/help. for epg type stuff

your not the 1st new user with problems, suggest you look at
http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/13_Setup_Guides/2_TV_Setup/4_TV_Guide_Setup_(EPG)/XMLTV_mc2xml

to get mc2xml/xmltv EPG you need to make sure the mappings are setup so your TuningChannel point to GuideChannel from SD tvguide.xml download. Unfortunately auto-map does not work well for this option, so you need to go in and manually fiddle with channel mapping to get guide setup. But there are other minor setup glitches that can cause problems. take a look at the setup link and see if that helps
