Getting MP to update over multiple accounts (1 Viewer)

Alright so I am pretty new to Mediaportal. I am using the Moving Pictures and MP-TV plugins.

My HTPC has 2 accounts one that everyone uses to watch things and one that I have setup for remote desktop so I can get things organized easier from my desktop.

When I am adding files to Moving Pictures and MP-TV on one account they do not automatically update into the other accounts library.

So if I open media portal on my remote desktop account all of the new movies and tv series will load in mediaportal but when I switch to the HTPC account they do not show up unless I exit media portal go into config and then update and add them from there.

Any Ideas?

You want both accounts to use same database and thumbs directories.
Change the database and thumbs location in mediaportaldirs.xml to directories that can be used by both accounts.
Then copy all database and thumbs files from the most up to date account to that shared locations.

Yes you may want to consider a different approach instead of using remote desktop. You can have your desktop loaded with MP too and do the importing of movies/shows there. Edit the mediaportaldirs.xml on that PC to point to a shared database location. Edit the same file on the HTPC and again point to that same location. If you are not using a NAS for this, then use the HTPC to hold the databases and setup sharing so your desktop can access that location. If you store your moves/shows directly on the HTPC, again, just share that location on your network and you can move files around from your desktop.
