meanwhile I'm tired getting a cinergy s2 and a technisat skystar hd2 to work with MP.
I just bought a floppydtv and will see how to squeeze it in the case. I think I'have to build some custom brackets.
Well, let's see whether this one will work with MP.
This project really kicks ass, the case is awesome!
I got a GA-MA78-S2H & AMD X2 4000+ yesterday and i love it! The Installation went smoothly, my TV got signal (thx god) and the Catalyst 8.49 did the 1360*768@50Hz in first try!
it's been a while since my last post. meanwhile I tried to get the floppy dtv to work.
The card shows the same "no signal" while scanning and i burst to tears.
Then I found this thread
put the unzipped filse into the TV-Server folder an run the "runme.bat" by doubleclick.
Though the card is not a multituner it shows two cards in the config. The FireDTV BDA and a built in Radiostream.
So it is obvious, that the cinergy s2 and skystar hd2 will work with tis patch too.
After that the card shows up with signal strength and signal quality and I was able to scan.
Nevertheless, I got fewer stations than with my running rig. Seems a problem of the signal sensitivity in MP what needs an improvement coz with the firedtv viewer (based on dvbviewer) I got a lot more stations with the floppyDTV.
Well, next steps are the implementation of the client and Mediaportal GUI.
yee, yee. I'll see you right then and will bring the gizmo in for intensive testing.
Then we can have chitchat about the multitouch thing in your living room and open a new project in this forum.
After installing a new sat dish and fine adjustement I switched back to the cinergy s2, which now worked well.
There are a few things left to do:
- implementing of cybrmg display driver for the mplay display
- implementing of mophats BR-plugin
Once this will be done I'll give a detailed report( installing, temps, screenshots, cpu-load a.s.o) and will edit the first post to share my experience with you. I think it'll be finished at Sunday night.
While laying in bed( was ill last week) and degusting flowers I thought, that's gonna be time to finish this project.
Today I was fully fit again and so I built in two usb-jacks on the left side oft the pc. I hotglued them in.
Then, this evening time for a small test report.
Here , have a look at speedfans temps and cpu-load during mediaportal plays TV.
Another screen, taken by camera, coz a screeny isn't possible during blu-ray playback.
As you see...cpu-load is around 30-40%.
Temps are controlled by speedfan now. I decided to let the fan spin around abit. I think it's better for the lifetime of the CPU.
The noise is absolutely not recognizable. So, I'll leave it that way.
Her are two other pic showing the power consumption during TV respectively Bluray playback.
Well, mates, I'd say:"Finished". And now I'll enjoy my htpc...
