Hi not sure if this has been covered but couldnt find anything after a quick search.
I am currently using IMDB.xml and am having some problems.
All of my films with a leading "the" are named as follows
Shining, The (1980)
Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King, The (2003)
but it seems to have an issue with "the" being at the back of the title.
Should i be renaming all of my films? or is there a way to get this type of naming to work?
Cheers,
Matt

Haha sorry. The grabber won't recognize the file when they are named like that.
Should I'm move the "the" to the front?

You could add the "the" to the cleanup definitions in AMCUpdater - that will help with the recognition.
Searchexpression will then be e.g. "Shining" instead of "Shining, The"

Would that cause issues with films where "the" is in the middle of the title?
also is there a way, or does it already include the year in the search? it seems to when "the" is at the start but doesnt seem to when it is not.

Msidney - I assume you know you don't have to move 'The' to the end? Most catalogs (like AMC) let you select formatted titles, with rules for how the titles are formatted. So you can leave all your titles as the official title, then just display/sort them however you like - and MF lets you choose to use formatted titles as your main display title. Might be easier in the long run?

Yeh, the only reason I am moving 'the' to the end is because I have family members running some old PCs which MP doesnt run very well on and instead of having over 100 movies starting with 'the' I decided to move it to the back.
I am trying to better organise all of my films at the moment with some catalogue software.

I have got Ember Media Manager working now with the shifted 'the' and using moving pictures to scrape the info. I haven't been able to find too much information regarding the use of Ember Media Manager with My Films, although I did star the issue of google code.

I had a look at ANT which I like but it doesn't seem like it is still being actively developed (correct me if I'm wrong).

So i guess after all that fluff my issue with the 'the' at the end is fixed :)
