Well, i can shake hands with you guys, i'm having the same problem and it's freaking me out for over 2 weeks now (since i got my panel ISF calibrated....). When i play a movie with the internal player my blacks are grey (using MPC Video Codec) but when i play the same movie outside MP by using the MPC-HC Player, my blacks are as black as they should be without any shaders active or anything. I've been testing this issue with a few calibration DVD's and for some reason it looks that MP is doing something with brightness/contrast settings on the internal player. ** EDIT ** OK, EVR is doing something wrong inside. When i switch to VMR9 and play the same movie with the internal player, i get the correct blacklevels! So.... EVR is defo doing something to the video at this point, the only question is: What does it do and how do we disable it to fix our blacklevels? ** EDIT 2 ** And with EVR disabled and VMR9 enabled i can even see the BTB and WTW differences again on the calibration disc.
