Hardware frontend available? (1 Viewer)

Are there any hardware type frontends available for MediaPortal similar to the Argosy (Newegg.com - Argosy HV335T Mobile Video HDD Media Player) or the LTV-100 (Buffalo's LT-V100 Link Theater streams every format under the sun at 1080p -- Engadget) that will work with the back end?

I'd like to be able to watch what I record without needing a full blown PC next to my tv in the other room...

no, but think about an small box Atom/ION combo, whitch is actually a pc but, very small and quite cheap, too.

Yeah, thought about that.

I think the minute that someone comes up with a front end for the backend software that's been written they will have a huge advantage in the market place.

there are media extenders that support GB-PVR (rival HTPC software) eg. Popcorn Hour
and i'm sure that W7 MCE and XMBC also support extenders.

Mediaportal only has iPIMP which can extend mediaportal to android phone/iphone. Hopefully media extenders will be supported in MP2.

I know you said you don't want a fully blown PC but my HP Touchscreen has worked out really well and looks like a TV but with the added benefits of being a HD PC with built in Blu-Ray player: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/bleazle-311/hp-touchsmart-5-minute-review-82016/. Not cheap but I highly recommend it.

OK, that makes sense then that MP doesn't support media extenders.

XBMC would be nice if it was able to record TV... it has a nice interface.

Do you have a link to the Android (iPIMP)? iPIMP, what is it?
