Harmony 700 setup (1 Viewer)

Hi
I've just got an Harmony 700 and trying to get it to work with MP.
The IR dongle I've got came with a cheap remote and I believe it works on HID commands...
I've tried several settings on the remote from mce remote/keyboard etc, to having the Harmony learn the codes from the current remote (which does work) but still nothing happens in MP - no button works at all.
Can anyone advise...

I did the same thing with a Harmony One Remote a year ago. I ended up calling Customer Support and they created a custom profile for the remote. The process took about 20-30 mins with multiple reloading of the remote until I was satisfied but the rep was great and let me choose which buttons I wanted for the mouse applications.

I have the Harmony 550 and use the same cheap dongle although mine works. I have it setup in MP as a MCE Remote. I wonder where we could get more of the IR Dongles without remotes?

Actually I had to get the harmony to learn the raw commands from the original, (note I had to wait a few seconds after each key learn otherwise it seemed to keep sending the commands twice)
Mapped the buttons as I wanted to the Harmony keys
Then I used the HID keyboard plugin to map the buttons to MP
Now pretty much all works fine bar some tweaking.
