harmony remote + pcmcia tv tuner + media portal?? (1 Viewer)

ok ok, to start out with, I'm loving media portal!

I've got together my harmony 676 remote, t42p thinkpad, and media portal.

I learned by reading thru forums that the internal IrDA wouldn't suffice for the remote, so my roommate happened to have an older ADS tech instant tv cardbus with a remote control. Now how do I combine all of these.

Gday - From one noob to another. I am just starting out too and also have a logitech 360 remote (quite simular to yours) all you can do is program your logitech remote to be an ads tv remote. I imagine what you were hoping trying to do is to setup your logitech remote as a MCE remote and then use IR reciever from the ADS which you cant do as the ADS reciever will only (without major modification to the driver/firmware) receive remote codes for the ADS remote.

What I have done with my FUSIONTTV remote is setup via the config to mimic the keyboard commands that Media portal uses. Your remote might be able to do this I am not sure.

Your best option is prolly to buy a universal remote receiver such as http://www.usbuirt.com/

thanks for the reply. after looking into it more, i think the best option is the mce remote receiver. i'm still a little puzzled getting the ptv-370 to work tho
