I have the 1600 and 1300 Hauppauge cards.

1600 - I receive digital ATSC "free over the air HD" which works great so long as my signal strength and quality hold up.
I could use the analogue coax, IR blaster rig to connect to the second coax input to a cable box. Have not done this yet. I am interested in this HD card mentioned by millhouse.

1300 - I use this older card to capture old VCR tapes. Simply connect the RCA jacks. This gets my old family video tapes into digital format before the tapes break.

I also watch netflix watch Now, hulu, Fox, ABC on-line. This works great with my big TV. If MP could integrate these web TV channels it would be great.

Moab... why not then use the web plug in's? I haven't gotten that far yet but they should work. Or there's a plug-in to execute programs and create menus from them... you could use IE for each. Again... haven't tried though.

The PVR-HD milhouse mentions isn't a card. It's a box.

TDF is correct for standard def channels - S video cable to the 1600 and change channels on the STB, This doesn't work for HD (or at least scales it down to SD). Don't use the coax (channel 3) output. It's a pain that way, vs the Svideo or RCA.

i gave this a shot this weekend but I can't seem to get a signal to the TV Server, tried scanniong for it but I notice that it doesn't give the S-Video as a source for the scan. I get a signal into the PC and I can get it on the S/W that came with the tuner card...just can't get it to come up in MP.

any Suggests would be appreciated.

The inputs aren't scanned. You'll have to add the channel manually.

If you are using the STB and IR blaster, then you would have to configure all the channels to use the input, and the channel information would be used to transmit the proper IR codes.

Any threads here that show the process for that? I didn't see anything in the TV server that allowed me to choose the S-Vid connector as a source. I looked at all tabs but nothing stuck out as an option for that choice.

Did some digging and found some threads with a "How-To" for the S-Video and will give that a try tonight.

Got the S-Video working last night using the following procedure from another thread. Thanx for the help on this guys

I figured it out too, lol. Just to detail it...

1. Open the TV-Server Configuration.
2. Click the + in front of TV Servers then the + in front of the server and then click on the TV card. Mine listed 2 so I selected the analog one as that is all I use.
3. Click on the "Add SVHS/VHS channels" button.
4. Click OK on the small window that pops up saying the channels were added.
5. Now click on TV Channels on the list on the left.
6. Mine wound up being SVHS#1. Since that was all I needed, I deleted all the other ones.
