I installed MediaPortal 1.1 Server and Client on a Windows XP Professional computer with a Hauppauge HVR 1600 tuner about 6 months ago and everything was working the way I needed -- especially the Server. I connected the cable company's connection directly into the HVR 1600's analog tuner.
Then our cable company sent out Thomson DCI104ICS DTA's to everyone and switched the channels to a digital format (these are like the ones that Comcast is using, but a different model). If I use the Hauppauge tuner software and set the tuner to channel 4, I can use the box's remote to change channels and see them change on the computer because it is hooked up into the HVR 1600's analog tuner.
But now I want to change the box's channels through MediaPortal and I don't know what to do. I've looked at ServerBlaster, IRSS, and the Hauppauge IR Blaster software and I'm not sure how they all work together. Also, I cannot get the Hauppauage IR Blaster software to control this box.
What MediaPortal software do I need to set up to do this? Also, do I need to buy any hardware (e.g., USB-UIRT), or is it possible to get the Hauppauage IR Blaster to work?
