grabbed the latest cvs, went to the plugins menu in the setup, enabled HCW IR Blaster, clicked ok, fired up mediaportal and the remote controlled my satellite box, using the IR blaster. Cool...

Just wanted to confirm it is working so far, and thanks for those with all the brains :)

Time to test...
