Today i got my new Case and there is no IR-Receiver inside.
So i decided to use the Hauppauge IR-Receiver of my HVR-4000.
Everything works fine - without standby.

I edited the irremote.ini with the foloowing line:

GRNPOWER={run(c:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState)}

After a restart or booting my HTPC goes into standby very fine. When i wake up it erverthing woks great but after first install i coulnd`t get it to a second Standby.

I got the Error-Message:

The Driver for "Hauppauge WinTV 88x IR Decoder" denies changing into standy..."
in German: "Der Gerätetreiber für das Gerät "Hauppauge WinTV 88x IR Decoder verhindert den Wechsel in den Standbymodus..."

in eventvwr i got the following Error Message:

Put your Hauppauge-Card in the nearest PCI-Slot to the Graphic-Card - all Standby Problems caused of Hauppauge are solved.

    Did look at this post, then scratched my head, would definately not thought of that answer, know they put the irreceiver socket in a stupid place though, possibly not fully inserted and giving intermitant connection that triggered this effect.

    Just glad you got it sorted :)

    I don`t understand everything you wrote in caus of I´m from germany.
    But this was really the solution.
    I came to it by searching the english Hauppage-Forum and reading this thread:
    S3 standby problem NOVA-HD-S2 - Hauppauge UK Forum

    After triying variuos drivers for the hvr-4000 the system goes in standby but doesn`t awake - it hangs with a black screen. When i disabled it in the device manager erverything works fine.

    So i gave changing PCI-slot a try - voila, erverthing works fine without other changes. I know - its unbeliveable.
    The card everytime fits correctly in the slot.
