    Hi!

I already have an old skystar2 pci card.

I would like to watch some HD material.
So I am in need of a good dvb-s2 card that will work stable with the supplied WDM drivers (no BDA drivers).

Why not use BDA drivers ?
b/c BDA does not support diseqC - and I need this.
I have 4 sats. hooked up.

Also it should work reliable with the tvserver.

Anyone with any experience with this ?

    Hi,
What exactly do you need to know??

The Hauppauge Nova S2 card does support DiseqC ver 1

    * Digital satellite TV and radio for your PC. Watch free-to-air satellite TV, in a window or full screen on your PC!
    * Record digital satellite TV to your PC's hard disk in original MPEG-2 quality. Digital TV recordings will typically take 1,5 Gigabytes of disk space per hour.
    * Pause digital satellite TV with instant replay.
    * Listen to digital satellite DVB-S/DVB-S2 radio.
    * DiSEqC 1.0 support.
    * Includes Hauppauge new IR remote control, for easy control of TV watching, record and play functions.
    * Also compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista Media Center application*.

I have one in my HTPC at the moment, although it isnt connected yet. I have a Triax 88cm dish going up over the next couple of weeks with 4 narrow focus LNB's on there with a DiseqC switch.

I know that you can get the HD channels, although one of them has been coded to H.222 rather than the H.264 (so that you cant get it on a sky box)
If you take a look over on the TV sevrver forums on here there is a fix for it and it can be viewed in MP now :D

I will report back my findings just as soon as I get hooked up :D

I simply wanted to know how stable/fast the card is in a non-BDA driver based environment.

U cant both use diseqC and BDA at the same time, since BDA has no support for diseqC.
So we have to rely on good vendor specific drivers (WDM) + good support with TVE3.

    So is it any good.

Sorry for the confusion, just wasn't to clear in your post.

I may have my dish and everything sorted this weekend?? depends on my supplier.
I have had the card for a good while now but not used it yet :(

I don't know how soon you are thinking of getting a card but I will post back as soon as I can with findings of the card.
