Hi there,

First of all, the TV Server is alot more stable and works alot better than the last time I tried it, so great! - Thanks for all your hard work devs!

Still crashes every now and then when i change channel, but its getting there :).

This is the first time i have EVER got an TV successfully working on Media Portal.

Anyways, I am looking to optimize the TV client/server so I can get the fastest channel changing/tuning without breaking it.

I am wondering, for anyone with a Hauppauge Nova-T (90002), what settings you have for the client and server.

Thanks.

    Hey cheetah...

I am using 2 of these cards with TVE3, and they are great.
No special settings required... just install and away you go.
There are no card specific settings anyway.

    cheers

That maybe down to the X200 graphics, using TVServer my channel changes are 1-2 secs and picture smooth as silk using PDVD7.

Try changing the settings General\osd delay to see if any improvement there.

Otherwise cannot think of any other settings that may improve speed.

    Thanks for the reply.

Never thought about that, would have thought the graphics would be up to the job.

Have you changed any of the settings under the "General settings" section of the TV Server Management Console, or is that best left alone?

By "PDVD7", I assume you mean the Power DVD 7 codec?

Will have a look at the OSD Delay...thanks.

    ----

The channel changing itself isn't that slow, its about 1-2 seconds as you said, but its rather bumpy.

When i change a channel, it freezes the exisiting channel (sound keeps going)....sound stops, shows picture from next channel (not frozen), plays a little bit of the previous channels sound, and then changes sound to new channel.

...it goes something like that anyways :p
