Hauppauge remote not found after Upgrade to Win7 (1 Viewer)

Hi all!

I just upgraded my PC from Win XP SP2 to Win 7 HP. After a long night of getting MP back to the state I had with XP, there is only one thing left which drives me mad...

My Hauppauge remote is not recognized by MP. In the configuration section everything is grey and MP says: "hauppauge ir components have not been found"

I found only one thread here dealing with this topic, but starting ir.exe in compatibility mode did not solve my problem.

Can anyone help me?

Hello Baldur,

met the same problem after a new install of the system.

I solved the problem, but i changed two paramteres so i dont know which one is the problemsolver:

1. I changed the pci slot of the TV-Card
2. I installed the Version 5 (Up to date is the Version 7) of the Hauppauge software which also contains the IR driver. The drivers for the Card itself are up to date.

That did the trick to my system, but i really dont know which of the two actions did it.
Whatever, now it works fine.

Hi,

As you told you change from Win XP to 7, if I were you I woul'd try to update the driver as Hackee said before changing the PCI slot.

Hi Hackee!

Yes, that did the trick for me! I downloaded an old version and installed only the IR.exe from that package, and all of a sudden MP recognized the Remote again.
