Hi,

I recently built myself a HTPC on Windows Vista, using Mediaportal. I'm trying to get my Hauppauge Remote working properly within Mediaportal. This is my progress so far.

I have installed the IR32 program that comes with the WinTV software.
Now the remote responds to the directional buttons in and out of Mediaportal, they act sort of like the directional keys on the keyboard. The Enter button also works.
On pressing the home button on the remote it brings up Vista Media Center, within that all the buttons work flawlessly.

I have checked the Hauppauge remote option in the Mediaportal set up but in Mediaportal only the directional buttons work and if I press the Home button it then loads up Vista Media Center.

I would like to get my remote set up so that it works properly within the Mediaportal enviroment, as it is currently working in Vista Media Centre and if possible on the Windows Desktop have the Home Button load up MediaPortal instead of Vista Media Centre.

Thanks in Advance

Remove the ehome driver(for mce remote/keyb) from startup using msconfig, check which model of remote you have and remove extra entries for other remotes from hauppauge.xml (one in user folder) and once mp is configured remove the ir32driver from startup.

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find either a ehome driver in the msconfig startup or a hauppauge.xml file in the user folder. Didn't have a try and search the whole drive fro a hauppauge.xml file but Ill try that when I have the time again.
