Having trouble getting mediaportal to recognize my card (1 Viewer)

I am using 0.2.3.0

fresh install of XP home with my diamond xtremetv 560 (i took it out of my older computer that worked perfectly)

I installed the card and drivers and it is detected in windows and works properly by when i go in the options in media portal to add the card it tells me that there is "no tv tuner card detected on my system"

Would anyone know why it works on my other machine and it wont even detect in media portal on my new machine?

I'm guessing you are using the built in TV engine.
If this is the case, then maybe you installed newer drivers for the TV card when you changed to a new computer. If so, sometimes newer drivers change the hardware ID of a card and then the built in engine wont detect it. You can modify the capturecarddefinitions.xml file to fix this but it's tricky (there are many threads explaining how if you search).

My advice would be to install the newest version along with the TV Server, which will auto detect any card that Windows can detect.

problem fixed

strange, i guess i needed to install the "external" drivers for my internal PCI card :/
