having trouble installing 1.1 (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, I recently just built a new PC to be used as both a htpc and a general office machine.

Iam running windows 7 (64 bit) pro
Trying to install MediaPortalSetup_1.1.0_BETA-1_rev23491
I get to the stage where I have to download all the needed components, But then the download always stalls at
the first item which is directx_mar2009_redist.exe
Iam lucky to get about a tenth into the download before it just sits there.
Ive tried turning off my virus firewall which does nothing.

If you guys can point me in the right direction I would be very thankfull

Ps. I apologise if I have omitted important information, I didnt include my hardware components because I wasn't sure If it was necessary.

It might help in future posts if you have your system details completed, you can see mine just under my name

If I was you I woud download this...

which is the very latest Direct X needed by MP, then at least you would get beyond your first issue.

I would install the above and only then would I install MP 1.1 beta. I would NOT configure it at the last screen of the installation but I would then install the very latest SVN build over the beta...

..as you are using W 7 x64 it would be very useful to start off your experience with MP by using that build.

Once that is installed then you can configure MP.

..a good codec pack which is supported well. Useful if you are a little unsure of what you are doing.
