HCWhelper.exe problem (1 Viewer)

I just recently installed Mediaportal 1.2.3.0 and I'm working on setting it up.
I've run into a couple of problems which may be linked.
First when I try to run MediaPortal I get a continual error loop for HCWhelper.exe.

I am running Windows XP MCE 2005 fully updated.
My hardware is an Nvidia 9600GX Video card, Hauppaugge PVR-150 and a Pinacle i800

The other problem I am having is with my Hauppaugge Remote, in the configuration window, in Remote Hauppauggge tab I get the following message "Media Portal the hauppauge IR components have not been found. Install the latest Hauppauge IR drivers and use XPSP2".
I used the link provided to download and install the latest WinTV7 app with no change.

I am not sure if these 2 items are related or not.

They are related.
You don't need the full WinTV app (I would uninstall that just in case it interferes with MP), install these drivers http://www.wintvcd.co.uk/downloads/IR32.exe and see if it works.

Thanks AtTimesPerplexed, I downloaded WinTV v6 and found the ir32.exe in that download worked perfect. And like I thought and you stated the HCWhelp crash stopped happening as soon as I got a working IR32.exe installed.
