A few months back I reported a problem that I could not watch History channel HD, because it has the same tag or name or whatever as the SD version. Mediaportal kicked out the HD version and kept the SD version, but I do not pay for the SD version.. so I ended up with no History channel at all. By removing the Transponder that included the SD History channel, I got rid of the problem, but also i got rid of 7 more, luckely all crappy, channels.

I never got a response back on this issue, but I see that this will become more and more a problem in the future, because next year in The Netherlands the national channels will start broadcasting in HD and SD as well, and if they decide to do that under the same name, this will be a problem as Mediaportal might kick out the HD version, so I am stuck with SD.

The cable provider responded that their supported set top boxes do not have a problem and can see the difference between HD and SD channels and keep them both.

Anybody here that has had the same or similar problems? Are the devellopers aware of this problem glooming at the horizon?

    Thanks

    problem solved (for now!)

    Hi all,

Ziggo (My cable company) has solved it for me since History Channel has changed the name of the HD version into History HD.

Just recently I noticed the logo had changed that is allways displayed in the upper left corner, then I got the idea that maybe the name of the channel has changed as well.. and it was! a rescan with the removed transponder frequency replaced in the dvbc file did work out as expected, I can now watch History HD, while History Channel is scrambled :)

But thanks for the tip Sunflower, I might need this tip in the near future when the dutch channels will start HD broadcasts under the same name as the SD original
