HD Audio Bitstreaming Help (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys & Gals,

I'm hoping you can help me with me Hd audio bitstreaming.

I'm running MediaPortal 1.1.3 with a AMD HD6450 audio/video card.

I'm using SAF 5 codecs and i can't seem to get HD bitstreaming to work.

Any mkvs (which is how my files are stored) which contain DD/DTS play fine in Mediaportal and bitstream perfectly. Meanwhile on videos with DTS-HD/DD HD don't play. The screen goes blank for a second or so then goes back the the menu in MP with the video marked as watched.

If i then try to play the file in MPC-HC it will play the video fine but i won't have any sound. If whilst it's playing i skip forward it will done one of two things.
It will either output a crackle about once every two seconds or the AV reciver will show as DTs HD/DD HD and there will be a pulsing sound hear every two seconds.

I've tried everything i can think of but i've had no luck and i'm hoping you can help me.

Have you got ffdshow set as the audio codec and ticked the appropriate pass-through setting in the ffdshow options (e.g. True HD)?

Yep.

The only difference vs the photo is under compatibilty options i haven't got 'connect as PCM first' ticked and the drop down box is 'standard formats only'.

Hmmmm,

What codecs have you got set-up in MP video settings and have you tried dragging the .mkv file to graphstudio, and does it play?

Hello!
Which Splitter do you use? Haali Splitter can't passthrough HD Audio! You need LAVF Splitter or MPC-HC Splitter for that.
I use LAVF Splitter + ffdshow audio decoder and all works well.

As for which splitter i'm using i don't know. It's what everyone came with the saf 5 codec installation pack.
The thing is though if i play it in mpc-hc it does know what sound it should be bit streaming when i select a random point in the timeline. It just doesn't play it properly.

Then you should check in graphstudio which splitter is in use.

Just a quick check - you are using windows 7 aren't you?
