    Hello,

I just installed MP 1.1.0 RC1 and I am facing to following problem: just after zap to DVB-T MPEG4 channel, the first frame of the channel is displayed and video stands still. Audio continues. Zapping to other channel and back solves the problem. This behavior doesn't occure allways, just time to time...

    Thanks

After some tests yesterday I think I can reproduce the problem allways:

    1) Zap to HD channel
    2) Stop Live TV
    3) Start Live TV (HD channel is tunned)
    4) Zap to other HD channel -> video stops on first frame, audio continues

To be able to watch HD channels properly again:
    5) Zap to any SD channel
    6) Zap to any HD channel now the freeze doesn't occure anymore (until next stop and start of live TV)

So it seems there is the problem with zapping to HD channels until any SD channel is tunned, then the problem disappears.

It is probably codec related problem. I played with codecs this morning little bit and problem with zapping occures only with CoreAVC 2.0 (case described in previous posts) and DivX codec (here zapping HD->HD works fine, zapping SD->HD shows black screen with sound only).

I am not sure if it is same (even it looks similiar). My problem with CoreAVC is HD->HD zapping, which causes immediate freeze of TV at first frame of new channel. BUT once I switch to ANY SD channel, the problem magically disappears and until next stop of TV it works fine (zapping). Unfortunatelly my good old graphic card went to silicon heaven and the integrated one is not able to hardware decode of H264, so I can't properly test Cyberlink H264 codec (I really hoped that one-slot passively cooled HD5670 or HD5570 come sooner, but it seems I will have to go to HD4670).

All are received via DVB-T, all are interlaced, one is broadcasted in 1920x1080 and two in 1440x1080.

Does zapping work between those two 1440x1080 channels?

Hmmm, I am not completelly sure, I think I tested it on all 3 channels and the behavior was always same, but to be really sure I have to retest it at the evening...

The resolution really doesn't matter, but is definitelly codec specific behavior - I installed HD5450 card, switched to Cyberlink 9 codec and the problems with zapping completelly disapeared.
