Hello Tech gurus,
Need your help. I recently brought Sony Network Media Player which is DLNA certified. When I try to stream a HD video, which is in m2ts format from PC -> Sony NMP -> TV, it causes jitter.

However, when I copy HD video onto USB drive and plug in the USB drive to Sony NMP, everything works great!

PC details: 64-bit Win 7 Home edition
Router: Wireless-N Belkin router
Media Player: Sony NMP

I am trying to figure out if this is due to Wireless router or something else?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers.

Yes it would be because your router is not fast enough for wireless hd streaming or you have too much interference
a dual band router would be best so you can use a 5ghz network for hd streaming.

i paid a guy to install ethernet ports on my wall in my tv room and the other pc room where my main pc and tv tuner is..

stream the tv channels from the main pc to the mediaportal pc via ethernet and it works great

just set it up today ..no more wireless..everything is perfect

i can make use of iPiMP now properly since the main pc which has the tv tuner is always on and always has internet access

    Thanks much.

I'll definitely try with dual band router. Would the internet conection (uplink/downlink) speed matter? I have comcast with 3Mbps upstream speed, one of COmcast's mid-level package. Just wondering if this would even matter OR would the dual band router take care of it?

Any recommendation for dual-band router? IS there anything like DLNA support for router?

    Hi there,

You might get more knowledgable answers on somewhere like the AVSforums.

This forum is just for the Mediaportal product (which I do not believe you are using) - as it is not DLNA.

    Thanks,

    J.

Your Internet speed won't matter when streaming files from your pc only online content.
Check out the Netgear WNDR3700 I have found this to be the best so far
The belkin play max has great speeds but constant Internet dropouts

Yes, that did it. The culprit was slow wireless router. I borrowed simultaneous dual-band router and tried streaming and voila finally!
    Thank you all for help.
