Hey Guys. Is there already a motherboard that fully supports HDMI 1.3a or 1.3? Or a graphic card? With fully i mean not only the support of the video specs, but also sound like dolby dts and all that fancy crap... yes/no?
thanks in advance everyone

    In short NO.

There is actually no need whatsoever for HDMI 1.3

There are NO devices yet that even support deep colour so I wouldn't hang around for HDMI 1.3

The other thing is that there are lots of boards with HDMI on them but lots with problems to. The other side of the coin is the audio. It was quite clear that you could only send the Dolby DTS etc over the HDMI as it is from an SPDIF loop to the Gfx card. Basically you can only output the formats that you can over SPDIF.

So in short the solutions aren't that great at the moment. I believe there is a new wave of audio cards due sometime soon with HDMI and lots of features.

    Hi Spragleknas,

:D Yes, I have been reading the and watching the reveiws for this but they aren't actually out yet.
Not sure when my local will have them either?

The thing with HDMI is that ALL your devices would need to be HDMI 1.3 or the whole chain defaults to the lowest in the chain.
The other thing is the HDMI 1.3 is for deep colour and the extra audio bandwidth of the new audio formats. Arguably these aren't much different to what you can hear over HDMI 1.2 or 1.1
There are currently no deep color devices around anyway.

It is a step in the right direction though as it has only been possible to get the new audio formats over analogue. To me I prefer the warmth of an analogue picture/sound over ANY digital picture/sound that I have seen/heard.

I am sure there will be a new wave of motherboards out soon that can support HDMI video and audio onboard
    to before long :)
