Hi all.
Sitting here in Canada and wondering if there is a tuner card/Capture card thats compatible with MP. I have a Set top box that has hdmi and not sur ewhat is call...RGB..something like that as outputs. Wondering if there is a card tht I could use to record my shows. Seems a waste to record off of composite or S-video if digital is avaiaible already.

Just wondeirng.

thanks

    Hey Rickyg,

You're looking for the Hauppauge HD-PVR... it takes the component-out from the back of the settop box and records in glorious hidef. MP supports it and I use it all the time.

They run about 200 bucks, tho.

    Cheers.

    Yep, that's the one...

ncix.com has it often for 199... sale for hdpvr, but that's still 200 bucks...

I used to use snapstream and the folks over there have non-stop issues with the hdpvr... I had a few lockups with snapstream, but with MP I have had none... same driver... not sure how that's possible given that they're doing basically the same thing, but that's my experience.

Never had an issue with the USB part of it... just make sure it's a USB 2.0 interface because it will require that bandwidth.

    cheers.
