I am fishing for some information as I'm in the process of trying to setup HDTV with MP.

Ok, this is my setup. Sony Bravia 32" HDTV connected to PVR (MediaPortal 0.2RC4) with DVI - HDMI through my ATI Radeon 9600 256MB Sapphire Atlantis PCIe card.

Currently my screen resolution is set to 1280 x 720 @ 60Hz. Whilst it fills the screen, the text looks a little jagged and harsh colours edges, also the picture is overscanning (TV mode auto switches to 720p).

If I increase the resolution (within the video card's capability) to say 1920 x ??? I only have the option of 60 or 30Hz, which kinda flickers (TV switches to 1080i mode).

So anyone with HDTV setup, I am interested to hear how you've setup MP, in particular if you've overcome the jagged text/picture overscan and optimisation of screen output.

Another part to this question is about drivers/monitor profile which I've not touched. I previously removed the ATI Catalyst application drivers which caused MP to do odd things. Currently only the ATI device drivers are installed. Will this make any difference?

My other question relates to WinDVD7 and WMP10. Does anything need to be set for HDTV and are they capable of increased output for such screens? In MP, should I use any specific codecs or change settings? Should I be using a widescreen or HDTV skin (if such a stable one exists)

I know this is a seperate issue....with my basic LCD TV I have been unable to do DVD playback from within MP for about 2 months, although I've been able to view from WinDVD & WMP. A disc in the DVDROM drive locks up MP and I haven't found a solution. I have tried different codecs/settings.

Thanks for any information you can supply!!!
